Reflection on ICT as Constructive Tool

One of the key messages from the session was “ICT is one of the effective methods to help construct and build knowledge.” It serves as a tool for manipulating information, constructing knowledge and visualizing our understanding. As the word ‘construction’ suggests, I learned that it helps us in stimulating our brain by developing critical and creative thinking skills. These skills help us to build motivation to learn and explore further for information. 

The session on April 27th focused on collecting class data on each student’s weight and height information. Using the information collected, we then manipulated and organized the data by using formulas for categorization. To visualize our understanding, we created a graph which helped me to gain a clear understanding of the data collected. We also designed one-page stimulated advertisement to attract visitors using a PowerPoint presentation program where we used animation.

In continuation of the previous session, the next class highlighted the importance of integrating Google classroom in teaching and learning. I have understood clearly how ICT can be effectively used for constructing knowledge and learning. From the activity on creating Google classroom, I learnt how to categorize lesson planning and organize the learning materials much effectively while using google classroom. To aid the learning, we can add video links and documents for students to gain further knowledge regarding their learning topics. To engage the learners in online sessions, I have learned to create a quiz to recollect their knowledge. Thus, Google platform is one successful constructive tool to develop and engage learners in constructing knowledge.
